Roger Ebert film critic Born: 6/18/1942 Birthplace: Urbana, Illinois
Best known as co-host with Gene Siskel of the popular television programs Siskel & Ebert (1986–1999) and At the Movies (PBS, 1982–86). After Siskel's 1999 death he continued with Roger Ebert at the Movies (1999–) featuring guest hosts, including the U.S.'s number one movie fan, President Clinton. He was the first film critic to receive a Pulitzer Prize for criticism (1975). He is a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times and has also written books on cinema and several screenplays, including Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970).
