Garry Shandling comedian, talk show host, actor

Shandling successfully parlayed his personal life into fodder for his stand-up comedy routine, which in turn appeared in his sitcom It's Garry Shandling's Show (1986–90). He used his experience as a guest-host on The Tonight Show to develop material for The Larry Sanders Show (1992–98) on HBO, which was nominated for an Emmy three times. Shandling has also appeared in several films, such as Love Affair (1994), Mixed Nuts (1994), and The Night We Never Met (1993). His first starring movie role was in 2000's What Planet Are You From?, followed by Town & Country (2001)
