Parker Posey left the North Carolina School for the Arts just three weeks before graduating to take a part on the CBS daytime drama As the World Turns (1991–92). That soap lead to other television roles, as well as parts in feature films like Coneheads (1993) and Dazed and Confused (1993). Posey won a special jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival for her portrayal of a Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis acolyte in The House of Yes (1997). Her other film credits include, The Daytrippers (1996), Clockwatchers (1998), You've Got Mail (1998), Henry Fool (1998), The Anniversary Party (2001), and Blade: Trinity (2004). She's part of Christopher Guests's stock company and has been in Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006).
