Peter Gabriel

musician
Born: 2/13/1950
Birthplace: Cobham, England

Talented musician, and, with Phil Collins, leader of the progressive rock group Genesis in the 1970s. Gabriel went solo in 1976, releasing three eponymously titled albums, the first of which included “Solsbury Hill” (1977). He released Security (1982) and So (1986), which included the hit single “Sledgehammer” . He won a Grammy for Passion (1989), an album he compiled as a soundtrack for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ (1989).
