Mandy Patinkin (Mandel Patinkin) actor, musician Born: 11/30/1952 Birthplace: Chicago
Patinkin won an Emmy Award for his role as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger on the CBS series Chicago Hope (1994-1995, 1999-2000). And he received a Tony Award for his role as Che Guevara in the Broadway version of Evita (1979). Patinkin's film debut was in The Big Fix (1978). He also co-starred with Barbra Streisand in Yentl (1983). While most of his professional life is devoted to acting, Patinkin recorded a CD entitled, Oscar & Steve (1998), as well as Yiddish songs that accompany his mother's cookbook. He is married to the actress and writer Kathryn Grody. His other film credits include Princess Bride (1987) and Men With Guns (1998).
