Peter Jennings television news anchorBorn: 7/29/1938 Birthplace: Toronto, Canada National news anchor of ABC's World News Tonight. By the age of nine Jennings had his own radio show, and though he dropped out of high school he went on to become America's youngest ever national network anchor (1964). When poor ratings got him demoted to correspondent, he covered stories around the globe until he was reinstated as anchor in 1983. He announced in April 2005 that he was battling lung cancer.
