Liar Liar
It's redemption time for Carrey. After The Cable Guy flopped, many began to question Carrey's future — well, at least his $20-million paycheck. He can breathe a sigh of relief; Liar Liar is a surefire hit. Carrey is up to his old contortionist tricks, reminiscent of the good-ole-days of Ace Ventura, and he's on like never before. Feeling neglected and lonely, 5-year-old Max Reede (Cooper) wishes that his father could tell the truth for one day; Max mistakes his dad's profession as a lawyer for a liar. Max's birthday wish comes true, but the timing couldn't be worse for his workaholic father, Fletcher (Carrey), who is representing a floozie (Tilly) in a bitter divorce. Telling the truth has never been so outrageously fun. The movie also reminds us how many of those little white lies we thoughtlessly tell everyday.
