With Chasing Amy, Smith has not only redeemed himself after the much maligned Mallrats, but he's also proven he's not just another Gen-X filmmaker. In his high-energy third outing, he explores romance '90s style, with no shortage of sexually charged banter. Comic-book artist Holden (Affleck) thinks he's found his soulmate in fellow artist Alyssa (Adams). Things seem to be progressing just fine until she tells him she prefers sleeping with women. Most men would run the other way, but Holden is not intimidated. He can deal with her sexuality, but he can't handle her past. A fresh twist on the old boy-meets-girl story.
