In their stylish, nuanced first feature, the Sichel sisters explore a troubled friendship between two adolescent girls leading dysfunctional lives in Hell's Kitchen. Lifelong friends Claude (Folland) and Ellen (Subkoff) eagerly anticipate high-school graduation so they can form a band. Claude discovers she's attracted to Ellen but is not ready to confront Ellen with her feelings. At the same time, Ellen's attraction to a swaggering skinhead (Hauser) pulls her away from Claude. Further tension builds between the girls when one of Claude's gay friends is murdered. A brutally honest look at sex, drugs and rock and roll.
