Nirvana grunge band
Seattle-based grunge band formed by Kurt Cobain that brought 1970s punk sound and sensibility into the mainstream during the early 1990s. The band's lyrics spoke to a generation of frustrated, disillusioned twentysomethings. Nirvana's recordings include Bleach (1989), Nevermind (1991) and In Utero (1993).
