Television and film actor known for his roles as a cool loner. He appeared in the television series Wanted — Dead or Alive (1958–61). His film credits include The Magnificent Seven (1960), Bullitt (1968) and Papillon (1973). He was married to actress Ali MacGraw. Died: 11/7/1980
