Sir Anthony Hopkins

Birthplace: Port Talbot, Wales

Academy Award-winning British film and stage actor whose performance in The Silence of the Lambs (1991) made him one of the most respected film actors of the 1990s. He reprised this role for the 2001 film, Hannibal. His other films include Howards End (1992), Shadowlands (1993), Nixon (1995), and The Mask Of Zorro (1998). His stage credits include London's Macbeth (1972) and King Lear (1986) and Broadway's Equus (1974).
