Dennis Weaver

Age: 81

actor who played Deputy Chester Goode on television's popular western Gunsmoke. He later starred in McCloud, playing a western deputy transferred to New York City. For more than 25 years, Weaver devoted much of his time to environmental causes.

Died: Ridgway, Colo., Feb. 24, 2006
