David Safavian,

Bush administration official, was arrested in September and charged with making false statements and obstructing a federal investigation into high-powered and highly controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Safavian, who had earlier worked as a lobbyist with Abramoff, resigned as Bush's top procurement official. He was indicted in October.
