Pierre Salinger

Age: 79

award-winning journalist who served as President Kennedy's White House press secretary from 1961 to 1964. He oversaw the first live televised presidential news conference in 1961. After politics, Salinger returned to journalism and worked as chief foreign correspondent for ABC News.

Died: Le Thor, France, Oct. 16, 2004
