Norris McWhirter

Age: 78

journalist and sports announcer who, with his twin brother Ross, started the Guinness Book of World Records in 1955. More than 100 million of the books have been sold. In 1954, McWhirter was the announcer when Roger Bannister ran a mile in under four minutes.

Died: Wiltshire, England, April 20, 2004
