Leni Riefenstahl Age: 101
German documentary filmmaker widely praised for her innovative techniques and vilified for her role as a Nazi propagandist. In her 1935 film Triumph of the Will, she chronicled a huge Nazi rally at Nuremberg. The film led to 1938's Olympia, a two-part documentary about the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Her later works include documentaries and photography books about the Nuba of southern Sudan. Died: Pöcking, Germany, Sept. 8, 2003
