William Bennett, moral crusader and former public official, admitted in May that he had lost about $8 million gambling in casinos over about a 10-year period. Bennett, a former U.S. secretary of education and director of the National Drug Control Policy as well as the author of The Book of Virtues, said he planned to quit gambling.
