Jayson Blair,

New York Times reporter, resigned in May when confronted by his editors with proof that he had plagiarized and fabricated sources, stories, and quotes in dozens of stories. The scandal traumatized the venerable paper, which ran a 4-page, 7,200-word story chronicling Blair's missteps during his 5-year tenure at the Times. “It's a huge black eye,” said publisher Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. Editors who pored over his work found 36 errors in the 73 stories he wrote in a 6-month period.
