Al Hirschfeld Age: 99
singular graphic artist whose caricatures of theater personalities graced dozens of publications for more than 75 years. His work most often appeared in the drama section of the New York Times. He included the word “Nina,” the name of his daughter, in most of his line drawings. His subjects ranged from David Merrick to the Marx brothers to Gwyneth Paltrow. Died: Manhattan, Jan. 20, 2003
