Eddie Bracken

stage, screen, and film actor who played the comic hero in the Preston Struges films The Miracle of Morgan's Creek and Hail the Conquering Hero. His career, which spanned eight decades, began in the 1920s but took off in the 1940s, with such hits as Caught in the Drift and Sweater Girl. His other credits include National Lampoon's Vacation and Broadway's Hello, Dolly!
