Billy Ray Smith Age: 66
a 13-year NFL defensive lineman, who played in two Super Bowls with the Baltimore Colts; played three seasons at the University of Arkansas and helped them win the 1955 Sugar Bowl; played for Los Angeles (1957) and Pittsburgh (1958-60) before being traded to the Colts; retired after 1971 Super Bowl; son, Billy Ray Jr., played linebacker with San Diego in the 1980s. He died of complications from cancer. Died: Little Rock, Ark., March 21
