Mets center fielder best remembered for his two spectacular catches in Game 3 of the 1969 World Series to preserve a 5-0 victory en route to a 4-1 series upset of Baltimore; played for five teams over 12 major league seasons; named A.L. Rookie of the Year in 1966 with Chicago; two-time All-Star; career: .255-130-433. He died of cardiac arrest.
