thoroughbred horse owner and breeder whose years of success overseeing Brookside Farm in Kentucky were highlighted by thoroughbred superstar, Cigar; holds Breeders' Cup record for starters (32) and earnings ($7,570,000); other champion horses: Ajina, Arazi, Blushing John, Eliza, Escena, Estrapade, and Theatrical; never won a Triple Crown race; won Eclipse Awards for owner (1995-96), breeder (1993) and the Award of Merit (1996); made his fortune in aerospace design and production; chairman and CEO of Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.; accomplished pilot who set 24 world speed records; named most of his race horses for aeronautical checkpoints; Georgia Southern University's football stadium is named after him.
