Adam Petty Age: 19
a rising star on the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit who died in a practice-run crash at New Hampshire International Speedway; along with his great-grandfather, Lee, grandfather, Richard, and father, Kyle, represented four generations of NASCAR drivers; was in the midst of his first full season on the Busch Grand National series; made his Winston Cup series debut on April 9. He died of head trauma sustained in the accident. Died: Concord, N.H., May 12
