Hank Snow

Age: 85

prolific country music singer-songwriter known for his melancholy songs about roaming and lost love. He recorded more than 140 albums and was often called the Yodeling Ranger. At Snow's urging, the Grand Ole Opry booked Elvis Presley in 1954, then an unknown. Snow's hits include “I'm Movin' On,” “Golden Rocket,” and “Rhumba Boogie.”

Died: Madison, Tenn., December 20, 1999
