Riley Smith

Age: 88

converted fullback who quarterbacked Alabama to a national title in 1934; two-time All-American; played safety, punter and kicked field goals for the Crimson Tide; member of several halls of fame including National Collegiate, National Football Foundation, Alabama Sports, Mississippi Sports, and Moblie (Ala.). He died of a lengthy illness.

Died: Mobile, Ala., August 9, 1999
