Alvin John Krueger

Age: 79

late 1930's college football star who guided USC to two straight Rose Bowl victories over undefeated, unscored-upon teams in 1939 and 1940; caught a 19-yard TD with 40 seconds left to upset Duke 7-3 in 1939 and hauled in another touchdown pass a year later to help beat Tennessee 14-0; played professionally with Washington (1941-42) and Los Angeles (1946); served in the Navy from 1942-45; inducted into Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 1995. He died of natural causes.
