Hussein I (King of Jordan)
Age: 63
widely admired ruler of Jordan for more than four decades who made peace in the volatile Middle East a priority, establishing good relations between Jordan and its neighbors. One of his last accomplishments was helping to finalize the Wye Peace Accord between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization in Oct. 1998. Died: February 7, 1999
