Leo Szilard

Nuclear reactor—Szilard was awarded a patent for the nuclear fission reactor along with Enrico Fermi. Throughout his life, Szilard made significant contributions to the field of statistical mechanics, nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, genetics, molecular biology, and political science. (1996)
