“Bad News” was a two-time All-American tailback/safety at Tennessee during the 1930s and returned to the team as an assistant coach in 1966; worked with kickers and punters, including the NFL's Fuad Reveiz and Craig Colquitt; entered the College Football Hall of Fame in 1969; of natural causes
