Joe Kennedy

withdrew from the Massachusetts gubernatorial race in the wake of publicity surrounding his request for an annulment of his first marriage and accusations that his younger brother Michael Kennedy had had sex with his teenage babysitter. Cousin John Kennedy, Jr., called the pair “poster boys for bad behavior” in the September issue of his George magazine. Michael Kennedy died suddenly in a skiing accident Dec. 31, 1997.
