Lachute

Lachute (ləshōtˈ) [key], town (1991 pop. 11,730), S Que., Canada, on the North River, W of Montreal. It is at the foot of the Laurentian Mts. Textiles and lumber, wood, and paper products are among its increasingly diversified manufactures.
