kinetin

kinetin (kĪˈnətĭn) [key], one of a group of chemically similar plant hormones, the cytokinins, that promote cell division. In some instances kinetin acts together with another hormone, indoleacetic acid, or auxin; in other cases it acts in opposition to auxin.
