Knickerbockers
Loose knee-breeches, worn by boys, cyclists, sportsmen,
tourists, etc. So named from George Cruikshank's illustrations of
Washington Irving's book referred to above. In these illustrations the
Dutch worthies are drawn with very loose knee-breeches.
