The tension builds slowly, but when it finally erupts, it's an all-out bloodbath. From her first day on the job as a maid in the Lelièvre house, it's obvious something is amiss with Sophie (Bonnaire). She's secretive and reserved in the company of others, yet ravenous and crude when alone. Resentful of her place among the privileged, Sophie finds a soulmate in Jeanne (Huppert), a postal worker who loathes the Lelièvre patriarch (Cassel). Both Sophie and Jeanne have a history of psychological problems, and, as their bond grows tighter, their behavior becomes more and more destructive. A chilling psychological thriller sparked by tension between the classes.
