Horsham

Horsham (hôr'shum) [key], town (1991 pop. 38,356) and district, West Sussex, SE England. Horsham is known primarily for its agricultural and merchandising activities, but it also serves as an engineering center. The Causeway, an old cobbled street, has Tudor and Stuart houses and a 13th-century parish church. Christ's Hospital, a public school whose pupils included Charles Lamb and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, was moved from London to Horsham in 1902.
