Hauraki Gulf

Hauraki Gulf (hourä'kē, –ră'kē) [key], large inlet of the Pacific Ocean, N North Island, New Zealand, forming the entrance to Auckland harbor. Numerous islands are found in the gulf; Great Barrier Island acts as a breakwater.
