Güines

Güines (gwē'nās) [key], city (1994 est. pop. 46,000), Ciudad de la Habana prov., W Cuba. It is located in one of the island's most heavily farmed areas. Güines was founded in 1737 as the commercial and financial center of the rich surrounding farm region.
