Chiavenna

Chiavenna (kyävān'nä) [key], town (1991 pop. 7,365), Lombardy, N Italy. It is a commercial center and transportation junction. Historically a strategic point, it commands both the Splügen and Maloja passes between Italy and Switzerland.
