EncyclopediaShoshone projectShoshone project, NW Wyo., near the Mont. line and in the Shoshone River basin. Developed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, it irrigates a large portion of land and has four divisions. The project is supplied by diversion dams and canals and by Buffalo Bill Dam (325 ft/99 m high; completed 1910), which has a power plant.
