Winnipeg, University of

Winnipeg, University of, at Winnipeg, Man., Canada; founded 1871. It achieved university status in 1967. It is controlled jointly by the provincial government of Manitoba and the United Church of Canada. It has faculties of arts and science and theology, an Institute of Urban Studies, and a Mennonite Studies Centre.
