Borel, Félix Édouard Émile

Borel, Félix Édouard Émile (fālēks' ādwär' āmēl' bôrel') [key], 18711956, French mathematician. He is noted for his work in infinitesimal calculus and the calculus of probabilities. He was professor at the Univ. of Paris (1904–41), director of the Henri Poincaré Institute (from 1927), and a representative in the French chamber of deputies (1924–36).
