Irina Shayk was on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 2011, confirming her as one of the world's most famous models. Irina Shayk was raised in rural Russia and got into the beauty business after her mother saw an ad on a bus stop and took her to a local beauty school. After winning "Miss Chelyabinsk 2004," she was discovered by model scouts "while on a three-day train ride from Chelyabinsk to Moscow," according to Sports Illustrated. She moved to Paris in 2005, quickly began modeling around the world, and in 2007 she appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue for the first time. In 2011 she was chosen to be on the cover, wearing a maroon-and-yellow string bikini on the sand in Hawaii. Irina Shayk has also appeared in the Victoria's Secret catalog and in ad campaigns for Lacoste, Guess, Beach Bunny swimwear, and Intimissimi lingerie. Shayk began dating soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo in 2010.

The town is "in Ural, 50 km from Chelyabinsk," according to her official site... Her father was a coal miner and died when Irina was a girl... Irina Shayk took over from Ana Beatriz Barros as the face of Intimissimi lingerie in 2007.
