Armin Brott is known as "America's most trusted dad" -- a reference to his long-running series of books about fatherhood and parenting. He writes the syndicated newspaper column "Ask Mr. Dad," offering advice on topics from spanking to cell phones, and also runs the weekly radio show "Positive Parenting." Brott has an undergraduate degree (1980) from San Francisco State, and an MBA (1982) from the Thunderbird School of International Management. He published his first book about fatherhood in 1995: The Expectant Father: Facts, Tips, and Advice for Dads-To-Be. More books followed, including Dad's Guide to the First Year (1997), Father for Life (2003) and Fathering Your School-Age Child (2007). Brott has also collaborated on non-dad-related books as well, including 10-Second Internet Manager (2000, with Mark Breier) and The End of Advertising As We Know It (2002, with Sergio Zyman).

Brott served in the U.S. Marines from 1976-78… In 2007, Brott told The San Francisco Chronicle that his books on fatherhood had sold 1.2 million copies.
