MERRILL, D. Bailey, a
Representative from Indiana; born in Hymera, Sullivan County, Ind.,
November 22, 1912; graduated from Indiana State Teachers College,
Terre Haute, Ind., 1933; graduated from Indiana University Law
School, Bloomington, Ind., 1937; teacher; lawyer, private practice;
United States Army, 1942-1946; elected as a Republican to the
Eighty-third Congress (January 3, 1953-January 3, 1955);
unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1954 to the Eighty-fourth
Congress and for election in 1956 to the Eighty-fifth Congress;
died on October 14, 1993, in Evansville, Ind.; interment in
Alexander Memorial Park, Evansville, Ind.
