LONGLEY, James, a
Representative from Maine; born in Lewiston, Maine, July 7, 1951;
graduated Phillips Academy; graduated Holy Cross and University of
Maine Law School; personal assistant to the late Governor James B.
Longley; U.S. Marines, 1976; attorney and small business person;
elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourth Congress (January
3, 1995-January 3, 1997); was an unsuccessful candidate for
reelection to the One Hundred Fifth Congress; unsuccessful
candidate for governor in 1998.
