Robert Quincy LEE, Congress, TX (1869-1930)

LEE Robert Quincy , a Representative from Texas; born near Coldwater, Tate County, Miss., January 12, 1869; attended the public schools and the Fort Worth (Tex.) High School; moved with his father to Fort Worth, Tex., in 1886, and to Caddo, Stephens County, Tex., in 1891; engaged in the general merchandise business; moved to Cisco, Eastland County, Tex., in 1913 and engaged in ranching, agricultural pursuits, and banking; founder and builder in 1919 of the Cisco & Northeastern Railroad Co., and served as its president 1919-1927; president of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce in 1926 and 1927; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-first Congress and served from March 4, 1929, until his death in Washington, D.C., April 18, 1930; interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Cisco, Tex.
