EARLY, Joseph Daniel, a
Representative from Massachusetts; born in Worcester, Mass.,
Worcester County, January 31, 1933; attended parochial schools in
Worcester; B.S., College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, 1955; served
in United States Navy, 1955-1957; taught high school in Shrewsbury
and Spencer, Mass., 1959-1963; served six terms in Massachusetts
house of representatives, 1963-1974; delegate to Massachusetts
State Democratic conventions, 1964-1970; elected as a Democrat to
the Ninety-fourth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January
3, 1975-January 3, 1993); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in
1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress; is a resident of Worcester,
Mass.
