 The Question:
Please help! I have been searching desperately for the lyrics to
the theme song for the Spiderman cartoon. Spiderman, Spiderman, does
whatever a spider can..."
I really would appreciate your help, as I know a four year old
little boy who wants to know the words in time for Halloween. Thank
you.
P.S. I'm new to the web and love your website. Looks like a
wonderful world of resources!
The Answer:
Here you go. This version comes from a few online sources, and
seems to be about right, certainly close enough for a four-year old.
Note that in addition to the 1967 cartoon series—which is now
available on DVD—this song can be heard at the end of the 2002
Spider-Man movie credits; a fun bonus for those
of us who stay in the theater until the end. Enjoy your
Halloween!
Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Spiderman.
Is he strong? Listen bud—
He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead.
Hey there! There goes the Spiderman.
In the chill of the night,
At the scene of the crime,
Like a streak of light,
He arrives just in time!
Spiderman, Spiderman,
Friendly neighborhood Spiderman.
Wealth and fame, he's ignored—
Action is his reward.
To him,
Life is a great big bang-up—
Wherever there's a hang-up,
You'll find the Spiderman!
